Summer 2025


The Mickel Scottish Country Dance Club is a Summer Class which runs from May to September each year

 in Netherlee in the south side of Glasgow, Scotland.


The club will celebrate its 62nd Anniversary on Monday September 2025.


The venue is currently in Clarkston Halls adjacent to Clarkston Railway Station. There is more than adequate easy car parking.


On club nights from a membership of 60 we expect there to be some 40 to 48 members dancing to interesting programmes and great music. Due to the considerable increase in the capacity of our new venue the club welcomes new members. The class caters mainly for the mixed ability dancer who has a knowledge of the basic steps and formations.


If you are considering joining the club and would like more details contact any club member. If you are a dancer but not sure you want to become a full member do join us on a club night - £4 will secure a place on the dance floor for you!

Dear All,


Well I cannot believe it is the end of another season of summer social dancing at Mickel SCD Club. What a run we have had of 14 nights with our last night ending with a fabulous raffle for our 2 charities.


A big thank you to everyone who could attend this year - whether you were a regular or just a popper in, thank you for your support and keeping the club going. I know some of you could not attend but I have included you all in this email as you are still all part of the Mickel SCD family and hopefully we will see you on the dance floor maybe next year.


We raised £400 for our charities this year, which is a bit down on previous years due to the increased cost of the hall letting, but hopefully for our 2 charities it will still help them in their endeavours.


Finally a big thank you to all of you have helped over the season to keep us refreshed with tea duty, signing in, covering classes, taking photos and videos, putting up or taking down all the programmes, writing dances and any other way you have helped - it means so much. Also I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for my flowers and gift - it was so generous of you all, but just seeing you all each week having fun on the dance floor brings me so much joy.


So, this is your club, so please do feedback any suggestions, dances you like to see on the programme next year and anything else that can help continue to make this club an ongoing success in our 63rd year and beyond.


I will be in touch in 2026 with the dates for our next social season, but I did hope I see you all on a dance floor shortly.
